Plan your Manor Lords burgage plot before you place it
A burgage plot is a house frontage plus a backyard, and the size you choose decides everything that follows: how many families live there, which backyard extension fits, and how much it costs to upgrade. This burgage planner lets you set width and depth, drop in an extension, and see family slots, output, build cost and monthly Regional Wealth update live — so you stop guessing in-game.
Single vs double burgage plots
A single-width plot starts with one family; a double-width plot starts with two and can reach four families at level 3. Because market goods are consumed per house rather than per family, doubling up squeezes more residents onto the same supply — at the cost of a wider road frontage. Toggle between the two to see the family-slot and wealth difference instantly.
Backyard extensions and plot depth
The backyard is the space behind the house, and its size gates which extension you can build. Small backyards take a chicken coop, goat shed or pig pen; bigger ones unlock the apple orchard. The exact in-game area thresholds are not published, so the planner uses relative Tiny / Small / Medium / Large categories and turns the backyard red when your chosen extension does not fit. Output that scales with size — vegetables and apples — is flagged so you know when a deeper plot is worth it.
Level 1, 2 and 3 upgrade requirements
Upgrading a plot raises its family cap and Regional Wealth, but each level has a checklist: construction materials, nearby amenities, and the right mix of market stalls. The planner lists every requirement for Level 1→2 and 2→3 as tick-boxes you can mark off as your town grows, and the ticks are saved in your share link.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a Manor Lords burgage planner?
Yes — this is a free, browser-based Manor Lords burgage planner. You set plot width and depth, pick a backyard extension, and instantly see family slots, output, build costs, upgrade requirements and monthly Regional Wealth. There is nothing to download and no account required.
Single vs double burgage plot — which is better?
A single-width plot has one family slot at level 1; a double-width plot has two (up to four at level 3). Goods consumption is per house, so a double plot houses more families on the same market supply, while a single plot is cheaper and needs a narrower frontage. Use the width toggle to compare family slots and wealth side by side.
How do Manor Lords backyard extensions work?
Each burgage plot has a backyard behind the house. Level 1 plots can hold a production extension — a vegetable garden, chicken coop, goat shed, pig pen, apple orchard (Orchardry) or apiary (Beekeeping). Level 2+ plots can instead host an artisan workshop. The planner shows which extensions fit your chosen backyard size and flags the ones that need more depth.
What plot depth do I need for an apple orchard?
Larger backyard extensions like the apple orchard need a deeper plot. The exact in-game area thresholds are not published, so the planner maps your depth slider to relative Tiny / Small / Medium / Large categories and marks an extension red when the backyard is too small for it. Increase plot depth until the orchard fits.
What do I need to upgrade a burgage plot to level 2 or 3?
Level 1→2 needs 4 Timber plus a Well, Wooden Church and Marketplace, with market stalls supplying firewood, two food types and one clothing type. Level 2→3 needs 25 Regional Wealth, 4 Timber, 8 Planks and 4 Rooftiles plus an upgraded stone church, a tavern with ale, and more market variety. The planner shows an interactive checklist you tick off as you meet each requirement.
Is the burgage data accurate and up to date?
Plot frontage is cross-checked against the community-extracted Manor Lords game files (v0.8.048). Extension costs, outputs and upgrade requirements are hand-curated from community guides and the wiki — some values, especially the apiary and pig pen, are estimates and are labelled as such in the tool.
